Moving Forward With Optimism
Mark's burn has miraculously healed and his skin looks healthy! There is just one tiny place under his arm that is still raw and painful. He is weaning off all the pain killers, has more energy and even drove a car for the first time in three months. So, we are going to seize the opportunity to visit our condo in Puerto Rico for ten days. If all goes well, we will return for a longer period in January.
Mike asked his girlfriend of 6 years, Steph Savas, to marry him while he was home for Thanksgiving so we have the excitement of a wedding to look forward to in June. Mike and Steph will be moving from California to the Plymouth area in January when Mike plans to join Gary in running the business. Mark and I still own the business but are officially retired and will have no more day to day responsibilities. So, we had much to be thankful for at our family's Thanksgiving celebration last week and shared a day of true gratitude and rejoicing with family and friends.
At this time, we are going to enjoy this reprieve and don't expect any further developments until we receive the results of the CT scan in mid-February. The blog will not be updated until that time unless something unexpected happens. There were 5,000 hits on the Mark Fights Cancer blog in the last four months. We recognize how fortunate we are to have so many caring staff members, friends and relatives and we are very appreciative of all the support you have bestowed upon us. Your cards, e-mails, prayers, gifts, and positive vibes definitely helped us through this difficult time and we will be forever grateful for your inspiration and encouragement. We sincerely hope that you will all enjoy a fun filled Christmas and holiday season.
Please check the blog in mid-February of 2007 when we will update you with the next round of tests. Meanwhile, we are moving forward with optimism and gratitude.
